We will meet and set goals. A treatment plan will be developed. The therapy is specific and focused on the situation you want to get resolved. I will work with you in a directive way. Each week we will chart our progress. You will get homework assignments and we will do behavioral exercises. The majority of the time the therapy will stay in the here and now. At times when past issues are affecting current symptoms, processing the past in a safe setting is important. Often the goal is to challenge past messages that one has learned to believe of oneself that are not true. Beginning to believe the truth, and what God says about you in scripture is a powerful part of healing.

Some issues can be worked through in short term therapy. Other issues that require more in depth work, such as early trauma and abuse, may require a longer term therapy approach. There may be times when you need to take a break from counseling and return at a later time. We can work with you to meet both your emotional and financial needs.
